Xinuos Announces Major 2025 Product Enhancements and Upcoming Price Adjustment

U.S. Virgin Islands — December 17, 2025 — Xinuos today announced a series of significant
product updates delivered throughout 2025, reinforcing the company’s commitment to security,
performance, and long-term reliability for OpenServer and UnixWare customers. These
enhancements reflect Xinuos’ continued investment in modernizing its platforms while
maintaining strong support for mission-critical UNIX environments.

Throughout the year, Xinuos introduced multiple improvements across its product portfolio,
including key enhancements to Patchck, designed to strengthen system security and streamline
update management for OpenServer 6 Definitive 2018 and UnixWare 7 Definitive 2018.

Major Enhancements to UnixWare 7 Definitive 2018

Xinuos delivered substantial updates to UnixWare 7 Definitive 2018 with the release of a new
GNU development subsystem, PTF 9151, Maintenance Pack 1 (MP1), and Update Pack 1
(UP1)
. Building on this foundation, the MP4 release introduces expanded virtualization support
for VMware and KVM/Proxmox environments.

The MP4 release also includes a modernized GNU development system for compiling and
running GNU applications, featuring updated C and C++ compilers, linker, debugger, and
binutils. In addition, multiple open-source components have been updated or newly introduced,
including Python 3.10.12, Perl 5.34.0, Samba 4.10.16, Sendmail 8.17.2, Bash 4.3.30, and
Rsync 3.4.1, available via Patchck.

System, Tooling, and Installation Improvements

Additional system enhancements include an improved clock implementation with new system
calls, ACPI improvements, a performance-enhanced mini-kernel for initial operating system
installation, and an upgraded Kernel Memory Debugging Tool (KMDT) now integrated
directly into the kernel.

Further updates include a new vmtools release, a guest configuration tool for streamlined virtual
machine cloning, expanded package-name support, and large-file-aware versions of commonly
used utilities such as awk, grep, and sort.
Updated installation ISOs for OpenServer 6 and UnixWare 7 are now available and include
support for AMD Ryzen processors, ensuring compatibility with modern hardware platforms.

Patchck Enhancements and Pricing Update

Patchck continues to help customers keep systems current by identifying the latest patches,
security updates, and newly available packages, while also supporting upgrades to future

Maintenance Packs and Update Packs. For customers operating in offline environments, Xinuos
continues to provide ISO-based installation options.

To support ongoing investment in product quality, reliability, and customer support, Xinuos will
implement a modest price adjustment in the coming year.
