Online Data Manager
The Veritas Online Data Manager (version 3.2) is a separately installable component for UnixWare 7 and OpenServer 6 that provides advanced data redundancy and recovery:
Concatenation
Data is mapped linearly onto one or more subdisks in a plex
Spanning
Concatenation using subdisks that reside on more than one VM disk
Mirroring
A technique of using multiple plexes to duplicate the information contained in a volume
Striping
A technique of mapping data so that the data is interleaved among two or more physical disks
RAID-5
A method of providing data redundancy through the use of parity, a calculated value that can be used to reconstruct data after a failure
